Local Kids Are Big Winners At Last Year's GFL Super Bowl Party 2008
The New York Giants weren’t the only “Big Winners” on Super Bowl Sunday. The Goals For Life Foundation, headed–up by Executive Director, Reggie Berry, hosted its annual Super Bowl Party for over four-hundred and fifty kids and their parents at the Norwalk Arts & Sports Complex in Norwalk, California. Even the mayor of the city of Norwalk, Rick Ramirez joined in the festivities. All participants received free tee shirts, autograph books, autographs from professional athletes, prizes ranging from new bicycles and back packs to footballs autographed by Hall of Famers such as Deacon Jones, free food that included pizza and hamburgers and fun & games played before the game aired on a large screen!

Twenty celebrity athletes were in attendance including:
Super Bowl Champion Bob Grant (Colts), Joe Sweet (Rams), Chuck Detwilder (Rams), Sam Scarborough (Rams), Derek Hill (Steelers), Reggie Grant (Jets), former Olympic Gold Metal Champion Paul Gonzalez, Former Heavy Weight Champion Mike Weaver Reggie Berry (Chargers) and many others.

One mom stated that she couldn’t believe that people cared enough to give the kids and their families an opportunity to be together and have fun…for free.

The sponsors who made this event possible included City of Norwalk, Coast Plaza Doctors Hospital, Wal-Mart, AppleCare, McDonalds, Outback Steak House, Kathy Bee & P.R. Productions and numerous volunteers.

Goals For Life is a non-profit foundation that teaches a coeducational program that offers at-risk students a game plan for success. Combining the talents of former or active professional athletes, Goals For Life has developed a goal-oriented program structured for the students and has accepted the challenge to coordinate the effort required to address the at-risk population, perpetuating the message that success is not measured by the position that one has reached in life but by the obstacles which one overcomes while trying to succeed.

Goals For Life, founded by former NFL player Reggie Berry is celebrating 18 years.
